With a linear drainage system, the surface is generally sloped evenly towards the drainage channel. In contrast, surfaces with point drainage usually require a two-way slope or a concave shape. A linear drainage system consists of several channel sections connected in a continuous run to form one complete drainage line.
For our GRP drainage channels without bolted gratings, the grating can simply be lifted out of the installed channel for cleaning. If your drainage channel is fitted with a bolted grating, simply loosen the fixing screws to remove the grating and clean the channel. Occasional removal of leaves and coarse dirt is generally sufficient.
Our GRP drainage channels do not necessarily have to be installed with a gradient. A so-called water level gradient is sufficient, meaning that the water rises inside the channel towards the outlet before draining away. If the channel is installed with a gradient, the drainage capacity increases and the channel remains cleaner because dirt is carried away with the flowing water. Unlike concrete channels, there is no risk of frost damage, spalling or cracking.
WOLFA GRP linear drainage systems are ideal for collecting and draining rainwater from driveways, commercial premises, parking areas and other paved surfaces.
Our low-profile drainage channels are particularly suitable where only a limited installation height is available. For projects with high architectural requirements and a discreet appearance, our GRP slot drain is the ideal solution. WOLFA also offers suitable drainage systems for many other applications.
GRP offers several advantages over conventional materials:
- Smooth, non-porous surface to minimise dirt build-up
- Frost-resistant and weather-resistant
- Lightweight for easy transport and installation
- Extremely robust and impact-resistant
- Resistant to UV radiation, de-icing salt and heat
- No risk of material fatigue
- Different load classes can be achieved by combining various channel bodies and gratings
- Every one-metre channel section includes an outlet connection option
- Individual channel sections can be cut to length easily
Yes. WOLFA GRP drainage channels are suitable for vehicle traffic. Depending on the selected channel body, grating and installation method, different load classes up to Class D 400 (40-ton wheel load) can be achieved.
